“Biggest crybabies” “Be proud” - College baseball fans left debating over FSU’s 7-2 loss against Tennessee

The Florida State Seminoles were eliminated from the College World Series after a 7-2 loss to the Tennessee Volunteers on Wednesday. As might be expected, College baseball fans had mixed reactions to FSU's postseason exit, with some saddened and others not in a forgiving mood.

On X, some claimed that the Seminoles fans were simply making excuses for their postseason exit.

"Nah they're the biggest crybabies and excuse makers I've ever seen. Good riddance," one fan tweeted.
"Can’t wait to watch y’all choke next year too!," wrote another.

Another took a cheeky dig at FSU's team management and staff.

"Embarrassing management," a user commented.

While some mocked the Seminoles for their CWS exit, others respected the team. There were many messages of praise for Link Jarrett's team on its incredible postseason run.

"Hell of a run noles. be proud," one tweeted.
"Great season. Many more memorable seasons to come!," another wrote.
"They have a very good team and coaching staff. #GBO," a user commented.

While Florida State's postseason run is now over, the Tennessee Volunteers will face the Texas A&M Aggies in a best-of-three series at the College World Series finals.

In his post-game press conference, FSU coach Link Jarrett praised the top-ranked Tennessee. He also pointed out that his Seminoles didn't make a great start and were made to pay for their missed chances.

"That’s a good team in the other dugout, clearly. Well-constructed, variety of arms, physical offensively, dynamic, athletic. They made some exceptional plays. You could basically go around the diamond and make note of the exceptional plays they made," Jarrett said.
"I don’t think the score was — it wasn’t reflective of some of the quality of the at-bats with really nothing to show for it. And we may have swung the bat today as well in areas as we did in the tournament with little to show.
"And that’s part of it. That’s why it’s difficult to, in some cases, to get here and win games on this stage when the other team can pitch and has the athleticism to make so many of those above-average plays."

Jarrett took charge as FSU coach in 2023 and he was able to lead the team to the College World Series in his second season. Notably, the Noles made it to the final four of the postseason, but they were unable to get past Tennessee to reach the CWS finals.
