College baseball fans were left hyped up after the announcement of Texas Longhorns outfielder and Big 12 player of the year Max Belyeu returning for another season under new coach Jim Schlossnagle. Belyeu had an amazing sophomore season for the Longhorns, hitting .329 with 18 home runs and 53 RBIs.

The 6-foot-2 Aledo native scored 50 runs and tallied 15 doubles, one triple and three stolen bases for Texas, who finished the season with a record of 35-22 (20-10 in Big 12), which is good enough for a regional stint in the NCAA Tournament.

On Monday, Belyeu posted a photo of himself on X and confirmed his return for another season with the Longhorns.

"Let’s go!!! Hook’em 🤘🤘🤘," he wrote.

College baseball fans expressed excitement about his return:

"Next Spring can’t get here fast enough! So excited to see the future of @TexasBaseball," a baseball fan posted on X.
"Hook ‘em, Max! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻," replied another user.
"Let’s get this chip," a baseball fan cheered.
"@AggiesToday just to make sure you see it one more time🤘," another college baseball enthusiast added.

However, not all college baseball fans were happy with the announcement, and some continued their rumblings about the team's biggest acquisition — new coach Jim Schlossnagle.

One user called the baseball program and Schlossnagle "garbage," and the other predicted a domino effect-like fall for the Longhorns under the new coach. Schlossnagle led the Texas A&M Aggies to the 2024 College World Series finals against Tennessee, losing the three-game finale 2-1.

Another fan wrote that he is looking forward to the meeting between Texas and Texas A&M in the coming season, especially now that the Longhorns are set to play in the SEC and meet the Aggies in an inter-conference series beginning next year.

"@CoachSchloss Thank you for expanding your coaching tree with @earleybaseball. Now that the thought of stealing our team is out of your bosses heads, I am looking forward to epic U Texas vs. TAMU battles! Always said you are the best!" the fan wrote.

Belyeu's post reached 247,900 views and received 2,200 likes on X.

Max Belyeu, Casey Borba return to Texas Longhorns after Jim Schlossnagle's hiring

The hiring of Jim Schlossnagle as the new coach of the Texas Longhorns has created a positive effect on the team moving into next season. After Max Belyeu announced he was returning to the Longhorns program, freshman Casey Borba followed Belyeu's lead, posting on social media Monday that he is also coming back to Austin for another season with Texas.

Borba played 34 games this past season and hit .256 with four home runs and 17 RBIs. He had an on-base percentage of .371 and a slugging percentage of .488.

Also expressing their intention to return to the Longhorns program are pitchers Max Grubbs and Ace Whitehead, outfielder Will Gasparino, designated hitter Kimble Schuessler and catcher Rylan Galvan. They confirmed this on their respective social media accounts.
