"I've never been happier at a baseball park": Aggies star Hayden Schott shares his excitement for 2024 College World Series

Aggies designated hitter Hayden Schott spoke to NCAA digital host and reporter Michella Chester on Thursday.

Chester asked Schott about the feeling of making it to Omaha for the College World Series, and the Aggies star replied:

"I'd say childhood dreams come through; it's the least I can say. I mean, I've never been happier at a baseball park in my life, so I just cried when we were driving up. I'm a happy man."

Schott and his teammates will be focused on putting up an impressive performance against the Florida Gators on Saturday.

Hayden Schott has enjoyed a stellar year with the Aggies

Schott has had an impressive season at Texas A&M, averaging .329, eight home runs, 59 RBI, and 79 hits. He continued the form that saw him rank 97th among top transfers this year according to D1Baseball.com.

When he was in Columbia, he made it to the All-Ivy League First Team in 2022 and the All-Ivy League Second Team in 2023.

What's next for Hayden Schott and the Aggies?

Schott and the Aggies enjoyed a stellar campaign that saw them win 44 games in the regular season. They reached the Bryan-College Station Regionals and made light work of Grambling, Louisiana and Texas to proceed to the Super Regionals. There they swept Oregon en route to the College World Series in Omaha.

They will now face the Florida Gators, last season's third runner-up, who finished the regular season with barely a .500 record but have shown improvement in the postseason.

The Gators beat Nebraska and Oklahoma State to proceed from the tricky Stillwater Regionals. They then overcame the Clemson Tigers in a tight Super Regional to reach the College World Series.

The Aggies won't have it easy against the Gators, as the team still has many players from its deep postseason run in 2023. Hence, the matchup should be a great watch for neutrals.
