He has an OPS near 1.400. His pitching statistics are less appealing, with a mediocre ERA of 4.71. Nonetheless, he has won 11 games and lost four this year.

Jac Caglianone's part in Florida's Super Regional over Clemson

Jac Caglianone was the starter for the Gators in the 10-9 victory over the Clemson Tigers on Sunday. He left Florida with a 7-4 lead upon which the team eventually built its qualification to the College World Series, although first Clemson tied and sent the game into extra innings.

Caglianone threw 5.2 innings, allowing five hits, two walks and four runs. He did strike out six batters. He was also the designated hitter for the Gators. His batting contribution was of more importance for the team, going 3-1 and providing two RBIs with a homer in the first inning. He also demonstrated patience at the batter's box, earning three walks.

The Gators broke up the stalemate in the 13th inning with an unlikely hero. Outfielder Michael Robertson stepped up to the plate with the bases full. Up until that point in the season, he was 0-7 when batting with the bases loaded. He hit a game-ending double that gave Florida the victory.

The Gators will face Texas A&M on June 15, with the game airing on ESPN.
