Texas Athletic Director Chris Del Conte went to great lengths to bring Jim Schlossnagle in

The lengths that Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte went to in order to snatch Jim Schlossnagle from the Longhorns' fiercest rivals, the Texas A&M Aggies, are unbelievable. Soon after unveiling Schlossnagle as the Longhorns' new coach on Thursday, Del Conte unveiled one of his tactics to entice Schlossnagle away from College Station to join him at Austin.

This hilarious tactic involved Del Conte hiding in his car just outside a cemetery in College Station. The cemetery in Snook, Texas, is located close to Schlossnagle's house.

At Schlossnagle's first news conference at UT, Del Conte gave the story and later shared his tactic on social media by posting a photo from inside his car on one of the days he went to meet Schlossnagle to discuss the job.

According to Outkick's Trey Wallace, Del Conte admitted he did this to meet Schlossnagle while avoiding the eyes of the public. He intended to keep his conversations with Schlossnagle low-key to avoid further speculation. As far as discreet efforts go, Del Conte sure set a new mark by taking drastic measures to bring his good friend to Austin.

Since then, the pair forged a strong relationship, with Schlossnagle acknowledging the bond played a key role in choosing to leave the Aggies for the Longhorns. His decision became public just two days after denying he would leave the Aggies following their narrow defeat to the Tennessee Volunteers in the College World Series final on Monday.

Although their relationship is solid, Schlossnagle cannot deny that his decision has spiced up the bitter rivalry between the Aggies and the Longhorns. The six-time national champions' move to the Southeastern Conference on July 1 will only intensify the rivalry, with Del Conte hoping the former Aggies coach can work his magic and bring the Longhorns back to the top.
