Jac Caglianone is eager to get underway with Florida at the 2024 College World Series. The Gators' two-way star also hinted that this might be his last season together with most of his college baseball teammates.
While speaking ahead of Florida's opening game of the CWS against Texas A&M, Caglianone touched upon the challenges of reaching Ohama and how the Gators eventually managed to get things going at the right time.
"Yeah, I mean, a lot of ups and downs for sure, but this team has clicked. Just stayed hot to get us to this point and you know, I'm just excited to be here," Caglianone said.
"It's definitely a group effort. I mean, everybody has kind of held their mud. But we knew there are a lot of guys who, you know, this could be their last season playing baseball. So, we're playing for each other and hoping to carry it as long as we can," Caglianone added.
The Gators made it to the College World Series finals last season but finished as runners-up after losing to the LSU Tigers. This time around, Caglianone and co. will aim to go one step further and win the national title.
Florida (34-28) begins its CWS campaign on Saturday, taking on No. 3 overall seed Texas A&M (49-13). The game will commence at 7 p.m. ET at the Charles Schwab Field in Ohama, Nebraska.
The Florida vs. Texas A&M matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN. Fans can also livestream the contest on ESPN+ and Fubo.
