The Texas A&M Aggies are making their first appearance in the College World Series finals in program history on Saturday night. They'll be clashing with another school that's looking for its first-ever college baseball national title: the Tennessee Volunteers. This will be an All-SEC final, that shows the dominance of the Southeastern Conference in baseball.
The Aggies come into the finals after beating Florida, Kentucky and Florida once more, a path to the finals that didn't get them to clash with any of the Atlantic Coast Conference schools in the tournament.
The Aggies have turned what seemed a middle-of-the-road season, into a historic one. In the regular season, they finished second in the SEC West behind the Arkansas Razorbacks, and in the SEC Tournament, they fell to Tennessee in the third round.
However, some analysts did state they looked like the most balanced team at the closing of the regular season. Traditional wisdom would say that the Vols look like the better team, having won the SEC regular season and the SEC Tournament already.
Texas A&M hasn't won any serious titles since 2016, when the school won its first and only SEC Tournament. The game will air on ESPN and it's set to start at 7:30 p.m. ET.
