The Texas A&M Aggies will take on the Tennessee Volunteers in Game 3 of the 2024 College World Series finals on Monday. The game will commence at 7 p.m. EDT at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Aggies beat the Vols 9-5 in Game 1 but suffered a 4-1 loss in Game 2. Texas A&M now needs to win Game 3 to be crowned national champions.
Texas A&M starting pitcher today
Justin Lamkin will start as the Texas A&M pitcher against Tennessee on Monday, the Aggies have confirmed.
Lamkin has been a strong option for the Aggies this season and has a 3-2 record heading into the final game of the campaign. The left-hander has racked up 86 strikeouts and 20 walks in 63.0 innings pitched at a 5.00 ERA.
It will be interesting to see how Lamkin performs in Texas A&M's biggest baseball game on Monday.
After the Aggies lost Game 2 of the CWS finals against Tennessee, coach Jim Schlossnagle said that he was proud of his team for making it to the final game of the postseason:
"Close ball game, just exactly what you'd expect with these two teams. To think you'd roll right through it in two games, that would've been nice. We get to play the last college baseball game of the season and that's awesome."
