Azzi Fudd has established herself as one of the best shooting guards for the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team. She has gained her reputation as an impressive shooter for her team. Additionally, she is also very versatile on the court and excels at being a good defender for her team. She is also very good with ball handling skills, thereby putting her opponents at a disadvantage.

Azzi Fudd’s impressive basketball skills have helped her to achieve Big East All-Freshman team member honors in 2022. Prior to her college basketball career, Fudd has also excelled varsity girl’s basketball during her high school years at St. John’s College High School. She was declared as the Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2019 and Morgan Wootten Player of the Year in 2021.

Unfortunately, this talented basketball has been sidelined for the 2023/24 season due to a torn ACL and a medial meniscus tear in her right knee.

Azzi Fudd wears jersey #35 for the UConn Huskies during her games. She is in her junior season as of March 2024, but has been sidelined due to an injury. Shehas also worn the same jersey number during her varsity girl’s basketball career in her high school.

Notably, this number is the only one lower than 40 that has been worn by three previous players for the UConn Huskies. These include Kathy Ferrier (1989-93), Marci Czel (1997-01) and De’Janae Boykin (2015).

Azzi Fudd has been very impressive for the UConn Huskies. As a freshman in the 2021/22 season, she was notable for scoring 29 points, her season high against the Villanova Wildcats. During her first two games in her sophomore 2022/23 season, she scored 56 points, which became a record for the most points scored by a UConn Huskies player in the first two games of season.

She exceeded Diana Taurasi’s previous record in the same category. She led her team to the Sweet 16 where they eventually lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes. She is presently injured and is not playing her junior 2023/24 season after playing just two games in the season as of March 2024.
