MiLaysia Fulwiley is a college basketball guard who plays collegiate basketball for the SEC's South Carolina Gamecocks, as of the 2024-2025 season. Fulwiley attended Columbia, South Carolina's W. J. Keenan High School, where he played basketball. She helped Keenan win the Class 2A state championship in seventh grade and was selected for the playoffs on the varsity team. During his six seasons with the team, Fulwiley won four state titles and was the team's all-time top scorer. She was chosen to participate in the McDonald's All-American Game as a senior. Fulwiley, who ESPN ranked as a five-star recruit, turned down offers from Ole Miss, Florida, and Louisville in favor of playing collegiate basketball for South Carolina. In seventh grade, she received an offer from the Gamecocks.
With a program-record 38 victories and an SEC win streak that reached a league-record 47 games, MiLaysia Fulwiley played a key role in the Gamecocks becoming just the fifth program in NCAA history to go undefeated and win a National. In addition to being named SEC Tournament MVP and being selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team, she helped the team win SEC regular-season and tournament titles. MiLaysia Fulwiley led the team in scoring in 11 games this season and ranked eighth in the league for free throw percentage and ninth in terms of steals per game in SEC games.
She led the team with 14.3 points per game on 48.3 percent shooting, 2.0 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game during the tournament, making her the first freshman to win SEC Tournament MVP. Her notable honors include being selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team (2024), SEC Tournament MVP (2024), and SEC All-Tournament Team (2024).
