South Carolina senior Bree Hall has nothing but love for former Gamecocks teammate Aliyah Boston. On Thursday on Instagram, the Indiana Fever star posted pictures of her rocking a Vinyl BC jersey ahead of the inaugural Unrivaled season tipoff.
"Let’s have some fun," Boston captioned the post.
Boston wore the all-red jersey, with "Vinyl" written in big block letters across the front and her jersey number #7 beneath it.
Several basketball players commented on the post, including Hall.
"second of all," Bree wrote, adding four heart eyes emojis.
Boston spent four seasons with Dawn Staley's Gamecocks en route to becoming the Naismith College Player of the Year in 2022 after she guided South Carolina to the national championship.
She joined the Unrivaled 3x3 league in October alongside her Fever teammate Lexie Hull and will play for Vinyl Basketball Club when the new competition starts on Friday in South Florida. Vinyl will face Rose BC, led by Angel Reese.
Boston was a junior when Hall joined South Carolina in 2021, and the two were teammates for two seasons before Boston left for the WNBA.
Bree Hall and South Carolina won their 12th consecutive game after defeating Alabama
No. 2 South Carolina won its 12th straight game on Thursday night after defeating No. 19 Alabama 76–58 to improve to 17-1 overall and 5-0 in Southeast Conference play. The defending national champions were led in scoring by freshman Joyce Edwards, who finished with 21 points and six rebounds.
Bree Hall, a 6-foot native of Dayton, Ohio, started the game at guard and played 25 minutes, chipping in four points, one rebound and one block.
The Gamecocks jumped to an early lead, leading by nine points in the first quarter, before losing the next two periods by a combined three points. However, South Carolina reasserted control in the fourth quarter, outscoring Alabama 22–10 to seal the victory.
Hall, who averages 6.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, might not be one of the Gamecocks' top scorers. However, she has proven to be a valuable contributor through her defense, experience and leadership.
"I thought today [Bree Hall] just put it all together for us," coach Staley said on Sunday after the Texas game. "The pace that she was playing with on the defensive side of the ball, the focus ... She's always ready. She’s playing like the senior that we expected."
South Carolina will host No. 13 Oklahoma (15-3, 3-2 SEC) on Sunday before facing undefeated LSU (19-0, 4-0 SEC) at home on Thursday.
