
Raven Johnson is a collegiate basketball guard who plays for the South Carolina Gamecocks of the SEC, as of the 2024-2025 season. Johnson played basketball for Westlake High School in Atlanta. She helped her team win four straight state titles while playing with Ta'Niya Latson. Johnson won two Miss Georgia Basketball titles from the Atlanta Tipoff Club and was named the All-Classification Player of the Year by the Atlanta Journal.
In addition to winning Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year and Naismith Prep Player of the Year as a senior, she was chosen as a McDonald's All-American. Johnson was rated by ESPN as the top point guard, the second-best player, and a five-star recruit in the 2021 class. She committed to play collegiate basketball for South Carolina on June 25, 2020. Johnson's season ended when she suffered a left knee injury in her second game as a South Carolina player. During her redshirt freshman year, Johnson became an indispensable reserve for the Gamecocks. As a freshman, she averaged 4.2 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game, earning her SEC All-Freshman honors. She led the team in both rebounds and assists at the SEC Tournament as a sophomore, averaging 6.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists. With 8.7 points per game, she also placed third on the team. She participated in 37 games, 35 of which she started. Johnson was selected to play for the United States in the FIBA Women's AmeriCup in Mexico in 2023. She helped her team win the silver medal by averaging 5.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
