Roman Reigns is an American professional wrestler performing on the SmackDown brand of the WWE as of January 2025. He comes from a prestigious Samoan wrestling family, the Anoa'i dynasty. Roman Reigns had an older brother, Matthew Anoa'i, otherwise known by his ring name, Rosey, who was also a professional wrestler. Matthew was born on April 7, 1970, and was a part of WWE in the mid-2000s. He was known for being one-half of the tag team "3-Minute Warning" along with his cousin Jamal (also known as Umaga). Rosey additionally teamed up with The Hurricane as the "Super Hero in Training" (S.H.I.T.) team and won the World Tag Team Title.

Former WWE wrestler Rosey, also known by his birth name Matthew Tapunu'u Anoaʻi, the brother of Roman Reigns and the elder child of Sika Anoaʻi (WWE Hall Of Famer), trained in the Wild Samoan Training Facility under his uncle Afa Anoaʻi. He started performing as a part of the tag team, Samoan Gangsta Party, with Samu for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Rosey worked for a few global independent advancements such as Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, and World Wrestling Council, and won many tag team tiles. He was endorsed by the WWE in 2001 and was assigned to the Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA). He secured the HWA Tag Team Titles with Umaga (Eddie Fatu) while working on that advancement.

Rosey began performing as a part of the tag team named '3-minute Warning' alongside Umaga in RAW. Following the departure of Umaga, Rosey collaborated with Hurricane and began acquiring fame as The Hurricane and Rosey. They went on to win the World Tag Team Title once as a team and later separated after losing the title. After his exit from WWE in 2006, Rosey worked for other autonomous advancements, for example, BAW Championship Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, Ohio Valley Wrestling, and Appalachian Wrestling Federation, etc. Rosey was likewise highlighted in the television series Fat March in 2007.

Is Roman Reigns’ brother alive?

Rosey passed away on 17 April 2017, aged 47. According to PWInsider, he died from congestive heart failure. He had been suffering from the condition for a few years and had been hospitalized multiple times before his passing, as per Wrestleview.
