Rylan Griffen is a college basketball guard for the Kansas Jayhawks, as of March 2025. Born in Dallas, Texas, Rylan Griffen attended Richardson High School, where he emerged as one of the top shooting guards in the nation. During his senior season, he averaged 20.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game, earning him the title of District 7-6A Offensive MVP. His high school team achieved remarkable success, finishing with a national ranking of No. 1 among public school teams and No. 2 overall in ESPN's national rankings during his senior year. Over his high school career, Griffen scored more than 2,000 points.

Griffen began his collegiate basketball career with the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2022. Rylan spent two seasons with the Crimson Tide averaging 612 points, 113 threes, 92 assists, and 41 steals in the 71 games that he played. He also started in 33 of those games. Rylan Griffen transferred to the Kansas Jayhawks in the 2024-25 season and is in his junior year, as of March 2025.

His performance improved significantly during his sophomore season (2022-23), where he averaged 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while starting in 33 of 36 games played.
