Serena Sundell plays as a guard for the Kansas State Wildcats and is a senior in the 2024-2025 season. Sundell won several awards and broke program records at Kansas State. She was the first player in school history to score over 1,000 career points, 500 assists, and 50 blocks. Sundell earned a spot in the 2024 All-Big 12 First Team and the All-Big 12 Honorable Mention twice in 2022 and 2023. She was a finalist in the Nancy Lieberman Award list. She led the Big 12 with 5.5 assists per game during the 2023-2024 season and was also seventh with the highest assist-to-turnover ratio. Throughout her career, she recorded 165 free throws attempted in the 2022-2023 season and was one of the top scorers in Kansas State history. She also earned a selection in the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.

Serena Sundell is from Maryville, Missouri, and attended Maryville High School. She earned a spot in the 2021 Miss Show-Me Basketball and the 2020-21 Class 4 Player of the Year by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA). She was also awarded the Class 4 All-State by MBCA recognition and was ranked as the No. 3 player in Missouri by Prep Girls Hoops. Sundell was the Class 3 Player of the Year and a Class 3 All-State pick in the 2019-2020 season. She made it to the All-District First Team thrice. Sundell, as a senior, averaged 25.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. She guided Maryville to a 22-2 record and was a runner-up in the Class 4 District 16 playoffs. She established the school's career scoring record of 2,358 points and had an efficiency rating of 29.04 by KCHighSchoolHoops.com.
