Valdez 'VJ' Edgecombe Jr. is a guard for the Baylor Bears and plays as a freshman in the 2024-2025 season. Edgecombe hails from Bimini, and attended Long Island Lutheran High School. He participated in the Bahamian National Team in the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament, averaging 16.5 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in four games. Edgecombe played alongside Buddy Hield and Deandre Ayton. He guided the Crusaders to the No. 2 ranking in the ESPN High School Basketball rankings during his senior season. Edgecombe registered 17 points and five rebounds during the Nike Hoop Summit for the World Team.
