The Air Force Falcons football program represents the United States Air Force Academy in college football, competing at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-A). Since its inception in 1999, Air Force has been an active member of the Mountain West Conference. Falcon Stadium, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serves as their home turf. Leading the team since 2007, Troy Calhoun holds the position of head coach.

In the 1980s and 1990s, the Air Force Falcons gained prominence for their distinctive triple-option offense, a style of play that emphasized running the football. They consistently ranked among the top rushing teams in the nation and achieved multiple bowl appearances during this period. Coach Fisher DeBerry played a significant role in shaping the team's identity during this era.


The Falcons joined the Mountain West Conference in 1999, where they continue to compete to this day. They have become known for their disciplined and well-coached teams.

Troy Calhoun is the current head-coach of the Air Force Falcons. Over the span of sixty-two years, the Falcons have been led by seven different head coaches. Troy Calhoun took over the reins of the program in December 2006, succeeding Fisher DeBerry upon his retirement.

Prior to kick-off, spectators can enjoy captivating pre-game events that feature flyovers by aircraft from the United States Air Force, including the impressive F-15 and B-2. This stadium, inaugurated in 1962, reached its peak attendance of 56,409 in 2002 when the Falcons hosted Notre Dame.
