He coached Cincinnati from 2006 to 2009, where he guided them to consecutive Big East championships and also made an appearance in the Sugar Bowl game. Kelly's success at Cincinnati earned a call from Notre Dame in 2010. He became the winningest coach in the program's history, leading the Irish to the BCS National Championship Game in 2012 and two College Football Playoff appearances. Since 2021, Kelly has been at LSU, continuing his winning record and building LSU into a top program.
