Donaven McCulley is an American college football player who has announced his return to Indiana for his final season of eligibility. McCulley started his football career at Lawrence North High School where he led the school to a 7- 4 record in 2020 and to their first title since 2005. He was also ranked the No.2 prospect in the state of Indiana and a four-star prospect by all major sports outlets. McCulley concluded his prep career with 6,211 passing yards, 1,274 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns. The four-star quarterback from Indianapolis embarked on his collegiate football journey with the Indiana Hoosiers after considering offers from top programs like Texas A&M, Kentucky, UCLA, Nebraska, Michigan, South Florida, Mississippi State, NC State, South Carolina and Penn State.

In his freshman season, McCulley saw action in only six games and was the third freshman in the program’s history to start a game. The following year as a sophomore, McCulley transitioned into a wide receiver and saw a surge in his playing time as he appeared in 12 games. His breakthrough campaign was in 2023 as he led Indiana with 48 receptions, 644 yards and six touchdowns. Last season, McCulley who was the most productive receiver for the Hoosiers decided to enter the transfer portal towards the end of the regular season. But the highly-rated offensive attacker announced his return to Bloomington for his final year of eligibility.
