Carson Beck, the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, has decided to enter the NFL Draft in 2025 shorly after undergoing surgery. Ranked as the #15 QB, Beck passed for 3,485 yards, including 28 touchdowns in 448 attempts, despite having his season cut short by an elbow injury. He ranks 10th in the nation with an 80.9 QBR.
ESPN NFL draft analyst Todd McShay criticized Beck's decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, calling it "foolish." McShay noted that NFL scouts share this sentiment, with one scout using the same term. He believes Beck would have benefited from another collegiate season to further develop his skills.
Fans, however, have criticized McShay on social media, accusing him of being a hater. They support Beck's decision and believe he made the right choice, arguing that another year at the collegiate level would have only hindered his development.
"The dude was a 5th year senior. He was only eligible due to his Covid year. If he's not ready now, one more year is not going to change anything," a fan wrote.
Some fans criticized the lack of accountability among NFL experts, while others pointed out that if Beck stayed in college, he would have to compete with a younger quarterback, potentially reducing his playing time.
"McShay has missed on so many players as have all these NFL "experts.” They talk nonstop and take zero accountability for their garbage," a fan commented.
"If I had to guess, he knew Gunner was taking his job next year and in most moch drafts he was a top 5 QB," another said.
"Here he goes s**tting on someone decision to go to draft..like he has in the past lying about players situations as he has done numerous times..example Dean, Carter , and others CF players. Just get sober man," a fan tweeted.
