Kalen DeBoer is a college football coach and was appointed by the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team in 2024. DeBoer has over 9 years of head coaching experience and is known for his consistency in winning championships. He started at his alma mater, the University of Sioux Falls, where he won three NAIA National Championships and finished as a runner-up in five seasons. His head coaching record at Sioux Falls was 67-3. After Sioux Falls, DeBoer gained experience as the offensive coordinator for teams like Southern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, and Fresno State. Throughout his coaching tenure, he improved the efficiency of each of those team's offenses, resulting in marginal wins. DeBoer was the head coach for Fresno State in 2021. Under his helm, the team finished the season with a 10-3 record and also won the New 2021 Mexico Bowl game. In 2022, he took the position as the head coach for the Washington Huskies, winning multiple titles and even appearing in the College Football Playoff.

Kalen DeBoer began his coaching journey in 1997 as the wide receivers coach for Sioux Falls. He assisted as the offensive coordinator at Sioux Falls before becoming the head coach in 2005 until 2009. He made the Sioux Falls Cougars program into one of the best in NAIA history. DeBoer transferred to Southern Illinois in 2010 and left in 2013. He moved to Eastern Michigan from 2014–16, and Fresno State in 2017 where he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. DeBoer returned to Fresno State as head coach in 2020 and later was announced as the new head coach at the University of Washington in 2022.
