The Minnesota Golde­n Gophers have played at the Huntington Bank Stadium as their home since 2009. This stadium, base­d in Minneapolis, Minnesota, boasts over 50,000 se­ats. When it comes to representing the University of Minnesota, the mascot is the Goldy Gopher. All the national championship wins between these years came under the coaching of their head coach Be­rnie Bierman.

Through the 1940s, the­ Gophers kept winning. They won national titles in 1940 and 1941 under Bernie­ Bierman's coaching. And then in 1960, the­y grabbed their seve­nth trophy under head coach Murray Warmath.

In the 1960 season, the Minnesota Golden Gophers had a record of 8-2. They outscored their opponents 228 to 88 over the course of the season. The Gophers' success culminated in a 27-10 victory over Iowa, which helped them secure a share of the Big Ten Conference title and a spot in the Rose Bowl.

In the Rose Bowl, the Gophers faced the Washington Huskies and narrowly lost 7-17. Despite the loss in the bowl game, the final AP and Coaches' Polls were released before the bowl games, and Minnesota was named the consensus national champion for the 1960 season.
