"I want full speed, focus, attention, passion, purpose. Let's work today. Let's work today because we came here to win. We didn't come here to play; we came here to win," Sanders said.
Micah Welch, running back for Colorado, provides further insight into Coach Prime's mentality and how he prepared his players for the Alamo Bowl. When asked about his feelings regarding the participation of the whole team, Welch said:

Coach Sanders arranged a special meet on Tuesday where everybody picked up names and gifts them on Christmas Eve.
"We're gonna have a meeting. We're gonna have a team meeting today 3 o'clock. We're gonna pull names of your positions and we're gonna take buses to the mall. You're gonna have to buy your teammate, whoever's name you pulled, a gift up to $100. No more, no less. $100. Don't get somebody a $20 gift when they're getting you a $100 gift." Sanders said.
Despite the pressure regarding the upcoming Bowl game, Coach Prime shared the importance of fostering relationships among the players ahead of the holidays.
