Notre Dame became the first team to advance to the quarterfinals from Round 1 after beating Indiana 27-17 last night. Riley Leonard was the passing leader for the Fighting Irish, throwing for 201 yards, including one touchdown and one interception. He completed 23 out of 32 passes.

In the quarterfinals, they will face Georgia at the All-State Sugar Bowl. Georgia ranked second in the nation, finishing 10-2 in the regular season and winning the SEC championship against Texas (22-19). Notre Dame fans are pumped and believe the Fighting Irish will secure a win, while Georgia fans feel that Notre Dame's playoff run will end.

It is going to be a great matchup. The Fighting Irish are on an eleven-game win streak while Georgia is on four, after losing to Ole Miss in Week 11.

After Notre Dame vs. Indiana, SMU vs. Penn State coming up today at noon

SMU and Penn State are going to face off on Saturday in the second matchup of college football at noon. The Mustangs lost the conference championship against Clemson (34-31) and are directly coming from a loss.

Penn State is coming from a loss in the championship matchup against Oregon (45-37). Both teams are on equal footing going into the game.

SMU's quarterback, Kevin Jennings, registered 3,050 yards and 22 touchdowns this season and was intercepted only 8 times. He ranks 24th in the nation with a 74.6 QBR. Whereas Drew Allar, the QB for Penn State, recorded 2,894 yards and 21 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions, ranks much higher at 11 with an 81.6 QBR.

Whoever wins this game will face off against the 3rd-ranked Boise State, where they will have to counter Ashton Jeanty, the Heisman finalist running back, who is in great form and is having a memorable season with monumental numbers on the board.
