Notre Dame's coach Marcus Freeman has shared his feelings regarding the flag-planting controversy being talked about on the internet after the Ohio State vs Michigan game on Nov. 30. Michigan won it 13-10 and celebrated by planting their flag on the Buckeyes' ground. This triggered a violent brawl between the two teams.

Freeman recently joined Robert Griffin III on his podcast "Outta Pocket with RGIII." In a clip posted on X by RG III, Freeman said:

"I wouldn't be too high on somebody else planting a flag in our home stadium. But for us, let's get our butts in the locker room and celebrate team glory together. Don't take a flag and plant on it. Let's go into the locker room and spend that time together, celebrating the way we need to. You put so much work into this thing."
"It's a bad look for college football. You don't want people looking at highlights saying, well that's how college football players act...fighting each other after the game. That's not what this is about. It's a physical violent game, but I like to say it's a beautiful game," Freeman added.

Notre Dame finished 11-1 this season, dropping the game against North Illinois (16-14). They ranked No. 7 and will be facing the No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers (11-1) in the first round of playoffs on Dec. 20. The Fighting Irish will be going into the game with a 10-game winning streak.

The highlight of this face-off will be Kurtis Rourke, the quarterback for Indiana. He has tallied 2,827 yards with 27 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Rourke ranks No. 3 in the nation with 85.7 QBR.

On the other side, there is Riley Leonard. He threw for 2,092 yards with 16 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Further, he has to his name 721 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

Notre Dame's balanced team across offense, defense and special teams makes them a legitimate contender despite a weak schedule. The Fighting Irish will aim to slow down Kurtis Rourke and Indiana.
