His standout achievements at Northmont High School propelled him into the spotlight as a three-star recruit, catching the attention of collegiate football programs across the nation.

Rod Moore attended the University of Michigan for his graduation. Despite being a newcomer, he played in 11 games. His first career start against Penn State marked a noteworthy milestone, where Moore exhibited his prowess with six tackles. However, it was his exceptional performance against Ohio State, where he amassed nine tackles, that solidified his role in the Michigan defense.

Throughout his freshman season, Moore continued to make significant contributions, culminating in a total of 32 tackles. The subsequent season marked a pivotal moment for Moore as he secured his first career interception against Colorado State. His knack for making impactful plays continued to shine in crucial games, such as the 2022 Big Ten Championship Game and the Fiesta Bowl, where he showcased his defensive prowess with remarkable tackle counts and interceptions.

Entering the 2023 season, he garnered considerable attention from media outlets as a top safety prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. In his junior season, Moore played 12 games with 11 starts and made 38 tackles including one for loss with two interceptions. He returned 38 yards among five total pass breakups with one quarterback hurry and earned his third varsity letter.
