Ryan Day has been the head coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes since December 2019. He was a linebacker for the New Hampshire Wildcats from 1998-2001. Day began his coaching journey as an offensive coordinator for Boston College and Temple University. He was the quarterback coach for the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. Day became part of the Ohio State coaching team as a quarterbacks coach and then shifted to the co-offensive coordinator in 2017 under Urban Meyer. Day took over as the head coach after Meyer's retirement in 2018. Day became one of the top coaches in the country, as he won two Big Ten Championships in 2019 and 2020 and three Big Ten East Division Championships in 2019, 2020, and 2021. He also won the 2019 Big Ten Coach of the Year.

His team was ranked in the top 3 thrice in the nation for scoring the most number of touchdowns and was in the Top 10 four times for registering total offenses.
