Steve Sarkisian is the head coach for the Texas Longhorns football team. Steve Sarkisian began his coaching career in 2000 as the quarterbacks coach for El Camino College. He moved to the University of Southern California in 2001, again as a quarterbacks coach before moving to Oakland Raiders in 2004 after one season. Sarkisian returned to USC from 2005-2008, he first became the quarterbacks coach, followed by the Offensive Coordinator and the Assistant to the Head Coach. Sarkisian became the head coach for the Washington Huskies in 2009 and left the role in 2013. Sarkisian signed for the USC Trojans in 2014 for one season as the Head Coach. Sarkisian earned a breakthrough when he was appointed as the Offensive Coordinator for the NFL team Atlanta Falcons from 2019-2020. In January 2021, Sarkisian was named head coach for the Texas Longhorns, a position he still holds through 2024.

He began his football career at West High School and played college football at El Camino (1993–1994), BYU (1995–1996) and Saskatchewan Roughriders (1997–1999). Some of his achievements and honors include the AP Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2023 and the Sammy Baugh Trophy in 1996. At Texas, Sarkisian led the team to a 12-2 record and won the Big 12 Championship in 2023. Sarkisian's teams qualified in numerous bowl games and held a record of 2-4. Sarkisian also won the 2020 Broyles Award as the top assistant coach in college football under head coach Nick Saban where he worked as the offensive coordinator for Alabama. Sarkisian guided the USC Trojans to a 9-4 season in 2014 and also won the Holiday Bowl.
