In Ty Thompson's high school career, Thompson's statistics were formidable, amassing 9,891 passing yards with 100 touchdowns and adding 1,145 rushing yards accompanied by 20 touchdowns. Recognized as a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, his commitment to the University of Oregon was a significant milestone, making him the highest-rated quarterback recruit to join the Ducks.

Ty Thompson College Career

Ty Thompson is pursuing his college football career at Tulane University as of 2024. He was formerly at the University of Oregon. In his true freshman year in 2021, he vied for the starting quarterback role against Anthony Brown. Despite playing in three games, Thompson strategically utilized a redshirt season, showcasing his potential by completing 7-of-15 passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns while rushing three times for 10 yards. Notably, his debut against Stony Brook displayed his skill, completing 6-of-9 passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

The following year, in 2022, Ty Thompson found himself in another rigorous competition, this time vying with Bo Nix for the coveted starting quarterback spot. Nix emerged victorious in the battle for the starter's role, yet Thompson continued to contribute to the team's efforts, appearing in seven games as a backup. Despite limited playing time, Thompson displayed his capabilities by completing 11 of 20 passes for 72 yards but faced two interceptions. Moving into the 2023 season, he returned to Oregon as Bo Nix's backup, ready to offer his skills and support to the team's success.
