Ty Thompson is a quarterback for the Tulane Green Wave and will play as a junior in 2024. He hails from Gilbert, Arizona, and attended Mesquite High School. Rivals labeled him a five-star recruit and ranked him as the No. 9 player in the country. Thompson was ranked in the top five pro-style quarterbacks in the country by the 247 Composite. As a freshman for the Oregon Ducks, he appeared in 10 games over three years before moving to Tulane. He registered 159 passing yards, four touchdowns, and 2 interceptions for the Ducks.
Ty Thompson’s high school career at Mesquite was impressive, he helped the team win back-to-back Arizona Division 4A state championships in 2019 and 2020. He recorded the most passing yards and touchdowns in a single season. He accumulated 9,891 passing yards and 100 touchdowns throughout his high school career. He won the 2020 Maxwell Football Club Offensive Player of the Year and the Ed Doherty Award for being Arizona's high school football player of the year. He participated in the 2021 All-American Bowl and Polynesian Bowl. Thompson was the captain in his final two seasons and led the team to a record 19-4.
