Shedeur Sanders, born in 2002, is an American football quarterback and son of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, who serves as the head coach for the Colorado Buffaloes as of 2025. Shedeur commenced his collegiate football career as a quarterback with the Jackson State Tigers in 2021. Shedeur transferred to Colorado in 2023 after completing his sophomore year at Jackson State. In 2021, Shedeur Sanders was part of the Jackson State squad, which went on to win their first SWAC East title since 2013. He also earned the SWAC Offensive Player Of the Week honors, SWAC Freshman of the Year, and Stats Perform Jerry Rice FCS National Freshman of the Year. He was named in First-Team Pre-season All-SWAC, BOXTOROW Pre-season All-American, and SWAC Pre-season Player of the Year, as per his college roster. In 2023, as a Buffaloes quarterback, Sanders played in 11 games and went on to throw for 3200 yards, while throwing for 27 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions, as recorded by Sports Reference. His career-high numbers across the board came in his last collegiate season i.e. 2024, where he passed for 4,134 yards and 37 passing touchdowns, per Sports Reference.

Sanders attended Trinity Christian High School and played as a quarterback for their football team. In high school, he passed for 12,498 yards and 166 touchdowns. As a senior, Sanders led his high school team to the 2020 TCAL National Championship. In his junior year, Trinity Christian High School went 13-1 en route to a third straight Division II state title (via NCAA)
