Australia will take on India in a much-awaited Group 1 Super 8 match of the ICC Men's 2024 T20 World Cup at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia on Monday, June 24. The game will get underway at 8:00 PM IST and 10:30 AM local time.

Afghanistan's famous 21-run win over Australia in St Vincent on Sunday has made semifinal qualification scenarios in Group 1 rather interesting. All four teams in the group are still in contention for a place in the knockouts, although mathematically the task is very difficult for Bangladesh.

Australia must beat India in their final Super 8 match to have a good chance of qualifying for the semifinals. If Afghanistan also beat Bangladesh in their last Super 8 game, it would come down to the net run rate. With a run rate of +2.425, India are well-placed, but they would like a win against the Aussies to be completely assured of a place in the knockouts.
