Australia won the first four Test matches against the West Indies cricket team. The Caribbean outfit recorded its first Test win against Australia in the year 1931 at SCG. In 1984, West Indies won six back-to-back Test matches versus Australia.

However, the Aussies have never allowed them a Test win in the last 18 years. The last time West Indies beat Australia in a Test was in Antigua in May 2003. Their previous Test ended in a draw, but Australia had emerged victorious in their five meetings before that Test.

Australia and West Indies played an ODI match for the first time during the 1975 Prudential World Cup. The Caribbean team won the group stage match as well as the tournament’s summit clash against the Australian cricket team.
