Watson’s heroic end

Little did Shane Watson know before the start of the India-Australia encounter that it would turn out to be his last international match. However, he did everything that he possibly could to stop the Indians in their tracks and take his team to the semis.

After having remained unbeaten on 18 with the bat, Watson produced a phenomenal bowling performance by dismissing Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina in consecutive overs. His last big contribution to the match was a brilliant catch to dismiss Yuvraj Singh.

It turned out to be a heroic end for one of the best all-rounders in recent times and it was unfortunate that he ended up on the losing side.
