England will face off against India in the second semifinal of the 2024 T20 World Cup at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday, June 26. The contest will be a repeat of the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal Down Under, which Jos Buttler and Co. won by a convincing margin.

England have had an inconsistent campaign in the tournament so far. They've made plenty of changes to their XI throughout the competition and have only four wins to their name.

However, Buttler and the team management might not be too keen on ringing in the changes for such an important clash.

England's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup: Jos Buttler (c), Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Reece Topley, Mark Wood.

On that note, here is England's predicted playing XI for their 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal clash against India.

Openers: Phil Salt and Jos Buttler (c & wk)

Phil Salt and Jos Buttler have been destruction personified in the 2024 T20 World Cup. India might consider bringing on Axar Patel early in the powerplay, and the explosive duo will need to adapt. And, of course, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh will pose their own set of challenges.

Middle Order: Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran

England have dropped Will Jacks from the side in recent times, and Ben Duckett hasn't found a place either. While Jacks is a match-winner on his day and Duckett could be useful on a turning track, the team management might be hesitant to make changes to a team that has gotten this far.

So Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook, who have played a couple of important knocks, could slot in at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. They will be followed by Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran, who could have a role to play in both departments.

Lower Order: Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley

Chris Jordan might not be the most reliable bowler in the world, but England have a ton of faith in him. The pacer could be partnered by Jofra Archer and Reece Topley, meaning that Mark Wood could miss out once again despite his express pace.

Adil Rashid, who has been one of the standout bowlers in the 2024 T20 World Cup, will be the lead spinner. India have left-handers in their ranks, so Rashid will need to be at the top of his game in Guyana.

Tom Hartley, a left-arm spinner who can bat, is a profile player who usually does well against the Men in Blue. But England haven't played him so far and might not want to switch things up drastically in the semifinal, especially with India having a host of southpaws.
