Highest Run Chase in 2007 World Cup
England- 301/9 vs West Indies, Barbados
England may have endured a disappointing campaign at the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean islands, but they did have their moments.
The 'Three Lions' bowed out of the tournament in the Super-8 stage, but not before they had scripted the highest run-chase of the event.
In what was Brian Lara's final international game, England's Kevin Pietersen decided to be the party pooper as he smashed a brilliant 91-ball 100 to help his side gun down the target of 301 with 1 wicket still in their bank.
Highest Run Chase in 2011 World Cup
Ireland- 329/7 vs England, Bangalore
Ireland scripted history in the 2011 World Cup when they gunned down 328 in Bengaluru to stun big brother, England.
Chasing 328, the Irish looked dead and buried at 111/5, before Kevin O'Brien decided to take it upon himself to script one of the most amazing and unlikely turnarounds in World Cup history.
The right-handed batsman smashed the English attack to all corners of the Chinnaswamy Stadium to bring up a stunning 50-ball century. He added 162 runs for the 6th wicket with Alex Cusack (47 off 58) to bring his side roaring back.
And, while he was eventually dismissed for a 63-ball 113, John Mooney (33* off 30) and Trent Johnston (7* off 4) ensured they took Ireland past the finishing line and into the record books for being the highest run-chase in the tournament's history.
