Pakistan is one of the hosts and a competitor in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The T20 World Cup champion (2009) has been playing in the ICC Champions Trophy since its inaugural edition. Pakistan, the defending champions, are hosting the competition for the first time. The former world champions (1992) reached the quarter-final in 1998, semi-final in 2000, 2004, and 2009 respectively. However, they did not reach the knockout stage in 2002, 2006, and 2013.

He played 22 test matches and 163 ODI matches for Pakistan where he scored 101 and 267 runs respectively.
