Faheem Ashraf: A Brief Biography

Faheem Ashraf Biography

Faheem Ashraf is an international cricketer from Pakistan. Born on 16 January 1994 in Kasur Pakistan, Faheem is a right arm medium fast bowler and left handed lower order batsmen known for his pinch hitting in last overs.

Background

Faheem Ashraf started in first class career in 2013-2014, with a century in his debut match. He was also the leading wicket-taker in the 2016–17 Departmental One Day Cup, taking 19 wickets.

International Debut

In March 2017, Faheem was named in Pakistani ODI team for their series against the West Indies, but he did not play any match on that tour.

He was then named in Pakistan's ODI squad for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and played his first international match against Bangladesh in a warm-up match. Ashraf scored 64 runs in that match and Pakistan won that match with two wickets in hand.

He made his ODI debut for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy on 12 June 2017. He took his first ODI wicket of Dinesh Chandimal on his debut.

His Twenty20 debut came against the World XI team in the 2017 Independence Cup on 12 September 2017. Faheem is yet to play test cricket for Pakistan.

Rise to Glory

On 27 October 2017 Faheem picked up a hattrick for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in the second T20 international at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi. He became the first bowler for Pakistan, and sixth player overall, to take a hat-trick in a T20I.

He was also the part of the team when Pakistan recently toured to New Zealand in January 2018. Faheem played one ODI in the series, in which he took 2 wickets and scored 23 runs for his team.

He also played a crucial role in T20 series win of Pakistan over New Zealand on the same tour, which cemented his spot in Pakistan ODI and T20 team.
