ICC T20 World Cup 2016: Pakistan's stylish new jersey revealed

Though the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to officially unveil their official jersey for the World T20 to be held in India, awaratv.com has revealed exclusive pictures showing leading cricketers from the Asian superpowers, including skipper Shahid Afridi in the brand new jersey they will be sporting at the mega event.

Much of the talk around the Pakistan cricket team leading up to the ten-team tournament has been regarding the team’s dismal showing in the recently concluded Asia Cup tournament as well as the scheduled group stage fixture against India at the World T20. The uncertainty surrounding the security situation at Dharamsala has seen the highly-anticipated clash being shifted to Kolkata and Pakistan cricket fans will be certainly hoping that the thoughts now shifts completely to the matters on the field.

That should start with the official unveiling of the team jersey for the event but exclusive visuals of the same have already found wide circulation in the social media. Though the design is not entirely pathbreaking from earlier editions, it does stand out from the rest with its shiny texture and other features.

The major difference from the shirts worn presently by the players is that a 3d-star symbol has been incorporated towards the bottom half of the shirt while a blue portion which was depicted in the earlier version has completely given way to the green colour. The new Pakistan jersey has been manufactured in the industrial city of Sialkot, which is renowned for its world-class sports manufacturing industries. Afer all, the ball used at the 2014 FIFA Wolrd Cup were made in this very city. That should be proof enough of the high-quality material that has been used for the cricket team as well.

The new jersey of the Indian cricket team has certainly created buzz around the sporting world and we will have to wait and watch whether the arch-rivals from the across the border receive a similar response.
