The ICC T20 World Cup 2016 starts from 8 March 2016 and the final will take place on 03 April 2016. This will be the sixth edition of the prestigious tournament and the first time India will play hosts to it.

No team has won the tournament twice; India were the inaugural champions in 2007 and Sri Lanka are currently the defending champions. Apart from these two, Pakistan, England, and West Indies have won it once each.
The ICC World Cup T20 2016 edition will start with the qualifiers round where eight teams (Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Oman, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Scotland, Zimbabwe) will face off in two different groups. One team from each group will move to the main tournament where they will play against top eight teams (England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan).
