#1 – Most T20I runs in a calendar year

It might be surprising to find this stat in this list as it has been only 4 months since the calendar year began. However, that's all it took for Virat Kohli to become the player to have scored most runs in T20Is in a calendar year.

In 12 innings, Kohli has scored 625 runs at an average of 125.00 and a strike rate of 139.50. Kohli also has the highest number of fifties in a calendar year, with 7 already to his name. The 27-year-old overtook Martin Guptill's record of 472 runs scored in 13 innings in 2012.

Although there may not be more T20Is to follow this year, it will be difficult to break this record set by the Indian vice-captain. Sabbir Rahman is the second highest run-getter in 2016 with 463 runs scored in 16 innings. India's Rohit Sharma is third on the list with 425 runs in 16 innings.
