#2 – Highest individual score in a World T20 Final
Although most cricket fans might remember only Carlos Brathwaite for the famous finish to the 2016 World T20 final, it was Marlon Samuels who was the architect of West Indies’ successful chase of the target set by England.
After losing the first three wickets cheaply, Samuels played a sensible knock for the Caribbeans taking the attack to the opposition when required and ensured that he remained until the very end to finish with 85* off 66 balls, hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes. This was the highest ever individual score in the finals of a World T20.
Samuels once again showed why he was considered as a big-match player as he broke his own record of 78 off 56 balls that he had scored in the 2012 World T20 final to guide his side to their first World T20 title.
