Host in the final four
Out of the six times that the World T20 has been contested since 2007, only twice have the host nations made it to the semi-finals. South Africa, England, West Indies and Bangladesh, all failed to make it to the best-in-the-business stage, as only Asian neighbours, Sri Lanka (2012) and India (2016) went through.
While India lost their semi-final, Sri Lanka won their’s in 2012, but lost to West Indies in the final.
