The last league stage game (Match No. 45) of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 will see the hosts India take on the Netherlands at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, November 12.

The Men in Blue will start the encounter as heavy favorites given the huge disparity between the quality of the two sides.

Ahead of the ODI World Cup clash between India and the Netherlands, let us take a look at the head-to-head stats in ODIs and ODI World Cups between the two sides:

India vs Netherlands Head-to-Head Record - ODI World Cup

Team India have locked horns against the Netherlands twice in the history of the ODI World Cups. While it might surprise a few, neither of those two games ended in a lopsided manner.

Their first clash at the ODI World Cup 2003 was held in Paarl, where the Dutch side bundled the Sourav Ganguly-led team for 204 runs in the first innings. It was only courtesy of Sachin Tendular’s half-century that India got to a respectable total. The second innings saw Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath take four wickets each to win India the game by 68 runs.

The last meeting between India and the Netherlands took place at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium during the 2011 ODI World Cup. After opting to bat first, the Men in Orange made 189 runs in their first innings. Zaheer Khan was the pick of the bowlers for India with his 3/20. In what should have been a plain-sailing chase for the hosts, they lost five wickets in the middle. However, Yuvraj Singh’s 73-ball 51* took India home with 81 and five wickets remaining.
