India vs West Indies 2023 Squad
The India tour of West Indies 2023 starts on July 12 with the first Test. The month-long tour also includes eight limited-overs matches. India will play two Tests, three One-Day Internationals and five T20 Internationals from July 12 to August 13 in the Caribbean and USA.
The Men in Blue start fresh in the build up for the quadrennial 2023 World Cup scheduled in India later in the months of October and November. Meanwhile, West Indies will start from scratch after suffering the grief of World Cup elimination in the Qualifiers tournament in Zimbabwe.
India vs West Indies 2023 Test Match Squad
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named a 16-member squad under Rohit Sharma for the two-match Test series. Senior batter Ajinkya Rahane was reinstated in the role of vice-captain.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad earned their maiden call-up for the Test side, while veteran Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped from the squad. Pace bowler Navdeep Sain was recalled after a span of more than two years.

Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the hosts in the two Tests. Although, Cricket West Indies have revealed their squad just for the first Test. The likes of Rakheem Cornwall and Jomel Warrican were recalled in the 13-man squad. Uncapped players Kirk McKenzie and Alick Athanaze were included.

India have made a few changes to their ODI squad from the one that face Australia in March this year. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson were recalled to the squad, while Bengal fast bowler Mukesh Kumar received his maiden call.

India have fielded a similar young squad they had for the New Zealand and Sri Lanka series in January under the leadership of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The host of youngsters, who starred in IPL 2023, have been rewarded for their excellence. Senior players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja are not part of the five-match series.
