Rohit Sharma needs to rediscover his form and provide India with solid starts

While India’s campaign in this edition of the World T20 has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride, West Indies have had a rather smooth passage to the semi-finals. After the humbling at the hands of New Zealand, the hosts rediscovered their mojo with a thumping victory over Pakistan.

The miraculous last-ball win against Bangladesh was followed by Kohli’s conquest of Australia. Even as the bowling attack has been performing adequately, MS Dhoni would want his batsmen to step up and relieve Kohli off his heavy burden.

On the other hand, West Indies skipper Darren Sammy should ask his team-mates to forget the shock defeat against Afghanistan and dispel theories surrounding their inability to play quality spin.

Team News

Indian Team

The biggest news emerging from India's camp is that veteran middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh’s injury has worsened significantly enough to rule him out of the tournament. Manish Pandey has been confirmed to take his place in the squad.

The team management’s only dilemma will be if they want to play Pandey in his preferred number 5 slot or use the services of Ajinkya Rahane who is more of a top-order batsman. But, the bowling unit is more or less settled and unlikely to see any changes.

West Indies Team

Chris Gayle sat out of their previous match against Afghanistan due to a hamstring injury. However, he has regained his full fitness and even sounded a warning ahead of the crucial encounter.

Meanwhile, the other opener Andre Fletcher’s hamstring has resulted in him being sidelined. Lendl Simmons who flew in at short notice is in the fray for playing his first game of the competition.
