The Indian Premier League (IPL), which is the richest cricket league in the world, usually takes place at the end of March and runs until the end of May every year. The latest 2025 edition will feature 74 games across 13 different cities in India. The league used to follow its own rules earlier, but now, it is set to follow the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Code of Conduct for the upcoming seasons.
At the end of every IPL season, players receive individual prizes like the Orange Cap for being the highest run-scorer, the Purple Cap for being the leading wicket-taker, and the Emerging Player of the Tournament for being the best young cricketer. Over the years, many players have set exceptional records that are yet to be surpassed in the IPL. With the IPL renowned for its high-scoring matches, a number of cricketers have made a name for themselves for hitting sixes on a regular basis.
