Left-handed all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who is also the elder brother of Indian player Hardik Pandya, started his IPL career for Mumbai Indians in 2016 and soon became a key part of the team. After being released by the franchise in the 2022 mega auction, he was included by the newly formed Lucknow Supergiants, and to date, Krunal has been seen playing only with these two teams.

33-year-old Krunal Pandya was born on 24 March 1991 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Krunal Pandya, who shifted to Baroda for cricket, made his debut for Baroda in the 2016–17 Ranji season. In the same year, Krunal was bought by one of the most successful IPL teams for INR 2 crore.

The Lucknow Supergiant all-rounder played his first T20 International for the Indian team in 2018 against the West Indies, just two years after his IPL debut.

Since his debut in 2016, Krunal has been seen only in two jerseys which are Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Supergiants. He started his IPL journey with MI and spent six years with the team until he was released before the mega auction in 2022.

Lucknow Super Giants, which was one of the two new teams that were going to participate for the first time in 2022 added Krunal Pandya to their squad. He soon became the deputy of the skipper KL Rahul. He is playing a vital role in the team in the IPL 2024.

A year after his brother made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians, Krunal Pandya joined him on the back of some stellar numbers for Baroda in domestic cricket. Krunal smashed 237 runs in nine innings at an average of 39.5 and a strike rate of 191.12 in his maiden IPL season.

Krunal has scored 1326 runs in 85 IPL innings with a strike rate of 136.7, including his best score of 86 off 37 balls against Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in IPL 2016.

Krunal Pandya IPL Auction Price

Mumbai Indians bought Krunal Pandya for INR 2 crore in the 2016 IPL auction. A couple of years later the franchise retained him in the auction with the help of a Right to Match (RTM) card for INR 8.80 crore, which made him the most expensive uncapped purchase during that time. Mumbai Indians released Krunal ahead of the 2022 mega auction and Lucknow Super Giants was successful in the bidding war for the all-rounder as they sealed his services for INR 8.25 crore.
