Australia faced Bangladesh in the 44th match of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Friday, June 21, at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. Australia won the toss and elected to bowl.

Bangladesh lost their first wicket on the third delivery of their innings. Litton Das and Najmul Hossain Shanto added 58 runs for the second wicket but the Bangla Tigers lost two quick wickets that slowed down the progress. They finished with 140 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Only two batters managed to score more than 20 runs for the team. Pat Cummins was the pick of the bowlers for Australia and took three wickets for 29 runs in four overs.

David Warner and Travis Head provided a solid start to Australia and added 65 runs for the first wicket. Australia posted 100 runs for the loss of two wickets in 11.2 overs before the match got interrupted due to rain. Australia were way ahead of the par score and won the match by 28 runs (DLS method). Warner remained unbeaten on 53 runs off 35 deliveries.

David Warner has jumped to fifth place and has amassed 169 runs in five outings at an average of 42.25. Ibrahim Zadran has moved to sixth position from fourth and has amassed 160 runs in five games at an average of 32.

Marcus Stoinis has slipped to seventh place from fifth and has scored 148 runs in three outings at a strike rate of 189.74. Philip Salt has moved to eighth place from seventh and has scored 147 runs in four games at a strike rate of 181.48 so far.

Aaron Jones has slipped to ninth position from eighth and has 141 runs to his name in four innings at a strike rate of 160.22. Brandon McMullen has moved to 10th place from ninth and has made 140 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 170.73.
