2024 T20 World Cup top run-getters and wicket-takers after England vs South Africa match (Updated) ft. Quinton de Kock and Jofra Archer

England took on South Africa in the 45th match of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Friday, June 21. The Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia hosted the clash.

England won the toss and elected to bowl. Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock added 86 runs for the first wicket. De Kock scored 65 runs off 38 deliveries. David Miller played a knock of 43 runs off 28 deliveries. They helped the Proteas post a total of 163 runs for the loss of six wickets. Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers and took three wickets for 40 runs in four overs.

England lost one wicket in the powerplay and collected 41 runs. The top-order failed to do much for the team. Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone helped the defending champions jump back with their partnership of 78 runs. Brook scored 53 runs off 37 deliveries, while Livingstone made 33 runs off 17 deliveries.

England scored 156 runs for the loss of six wickets and lost the match by seven runs. Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj took two wickets each for the Proteas.
